Skype v. Yahoo messenger

Can anyone tell me if there would be any advantage in me using Skype instead of Yahoo messenger which I have found to be very cheap and efficient as a means of calling telephones from my computer?

Can you call landlines with Yahoo?
Can landlines call your Yahoo number at standard rates?
Does Yahoo have voicemail for missed calls?

Thanks Ethel. The answer would appear to be yes to all your queries. I only want to use it to call landlines and mobiles all over the world, and Yahoo seems to do that just fine.
