If its dry dirt use a toothbrush. If its just general dirt I 'steam' them over the kettle and it works.
One of the oldest (and most gentle) ways of cleaning suede,is to rub it all over with dry oatmeal(Porridge Oats, butnot the added bran type) most Supermarkets do their own cheap brand.
Tip the oatmeal into a bowl put the gloves in and rib gently as if washing the gloves.
Take them out and shake them clean of the oats.
It may take a couple of tries if the gloves are quite dirty.
The oats (apparently) absorb the dirt!.
I've heard of the one that Mr Veritas's just said, and it IS supposed to work. To be honest though, when a pair of mine got plastered in mud and filth, I slung them in the washing machine, not giving out much hope. When they were washed, i shook them, and tumble dried on low. Hey presto - lovely!!!
you should have purchased a can of suede protector rather than waiting until they needed cleaning, I recommend the product as a preventative protection to any suede or fabric rather than having to clean the suede, which always results in deterioration if not done correctly
