Paypal fees mystery

I have just sold something on Ebay for �200. Paypal have taken �7.00 off this amount. Past experience has told me I can't get anyone at Paypal to answer my queries so do any of you know whether they really do take that big a cut normally? Strikes me as rather excessive.
