Interesting 'arty' clothes needed for middle aged gal
12 Answers
Hi everyone
Why is it when you hit middle age, everyone thinks you should dress in beige and buy your clothes from British Homes Stores or M&S. Does anybody know of any interesting clothes shops or suppliers out there for somebody who likes her clothes a bit arty, a bit different? I don't want the mutton dressed as lamb look, but I would like to look like an individual. I've a few items from places like Chandni Chowk, East, Anokhi that are quite nice. Monsoon used to be ok but they've become a bit pedestrian these days. I'd love to find a brand or shop where I can buy clothes that don't cost the earth, but aren't dull, dull, dull. eBay is a nighmare, so many cheap traders on there these days, so it's difficult to find a genuine bargain. I'm sure all you middle aged ladies will agree that finding nice clothes is not easy. Hope you style gurus out there can help. Thanks v much.

Following on from that thought..... anyone remember clothkits? printed patterns onto fabric to cut out and sew yourself ? http://www.clothkits.co.uk/little-people-dress es-c-39_31.html oh my word! I googled them and they are still going. Must be 25years since I used them . So cute.
i didn't like that website, the clothes looked like sacks just in bright in colours! what do you class as middle aged? I am 40 this year but still a size 6-8, probably down to the fact I have always exercised and eat a healthy diet, even after four kids! I still shop in River island, and debenhams and joe browns are quite arty and bohemian
