My god daughter is 1 at the end of June and we are having a big party to celebrate. Normally I give her money to go into her trust fund account (I did for her birth, her christianing and her first Christmas), but I would like to get her something to treasure. The only thing I can think of is a piece of Lalique. Anyone got any other suggestions, please.

Errr Lalique.....what's that?

hey Barmaid :o)

how about a collector's teddy? Steiff or Deans?

get her some Gold, Frankincense and err , err .mmmm err?
what's that other one mmm er, mmmmm, er???
I'd save that for when she's old enough to appreciate it (like, age 25?). At age 1 all she would do is gum the box.

How about some sturdy picture books, a stuffed animal, or something that makes a lot of noise when she bangs on it so she drives her parents mad? (You can always make a donation to her trust fund account when she's not looking, as well.)
You just don't know how to spell it...!!

That's a good idea Sara - I'll have a look at those. Thanks.

Ummm, Lalique is a glass factory founded in the 1860s (I think) which still makes collectable glassware today. I did buy an ex of mine (who collected glassware) a Lalique figure of a naked woman but it cost about 400!!!!
And I bet he wasn't worth it BM.
jesus,.. blow up ones are cheaper ....er so snags tells me !

lol Dr B, you are probably right (her parents are my best friends so i really don't want to annoy them). Trouble is, with a couple of doting grandparents, their house is absolutely loused out with kiddy stuff - all of which she will grow out of very quickly.

ummmm - you are so right, although i didn't realise until about 2 years later!! Tbh though, we are still friends (lmao - he is actually the child's god father!!!)
''jesus,.. blow up ones are cheaper ''

A blow up Jesus... cool...

Hi BM... what's your budget?
Question Author
About 150 Snags (assuming some so and so pays me next week!)
How about a charm bracelet? - you can then buy a new charm for her for every event as a keepsake for when she is older - each charm will have a special significance and when she is grown up you can tell her which one was for what. Something like a little duck or teddy would be appropriate for now, then maybe a fairy or ballet dancer etc as she grows. They can be any cost and you could always give her the charm and put the rest of the money into her trust fund.
Hi Barmaid....nice to see you back on the "circuit"

No idea what to buy her, but how about a terraced house in Peterborough. LOL

Nice to have you back.
Hi Barmaid, I was just thinking about you, how I hadn't seen you in a while, I hope everything is really good in your world pet, lovely to see ya !

lol Sqad I think even Peterborough might demand more than 150 quid for a house!!! lol

Hi Joy, thanks. Things are not yet 100%, but I have a feeling we are nearly there.......... (hopefully another couple of weeks and everything will be sorted, done and dusted and then I will be back!)
that is soooo good news pet x
