Finding a stylish man's suit? How to do it

My hubby, who is now in his 50s has just decided to get a suit. The problem is finding one that he likes. He obviously can't wear what's in fashion with kids in their twenties or he'd just look daft, but he works in the design industry and would like something simple and stylish to wear. He doesn't need the suit to wear to the office - he works from home - but does need something for when he has to look smarter.

Does anybody know of a shop, website, tailor (we live near Cheltenham) where he could either find something suitable (no pun intended) to buy or get something made? Thank you style gurus everywhere.
