speeding drivers.

I have no sympathy for speeding drivers at all.I work as a lollipop lady out side a school that has 20 is pleanty ,i have lights on to show that the children will be crossing ,but still motorists speed past ,they dont stop they park on yellow lines ,they block the crossing so i cant safely show the children over.Well as for todays little bit of rain at 3pm i think that everyone must have come by car ,whats wrong with welly boots and rain coats?

Nothing but in todays world lot's of women work. Plus, when I was a kid I use to go to school by myself from the age of 8. Primary school kids are not allowed to do that now. My school was a few miles away as well.

yes but also boy racers ,work vans in a hurry ,its madness on the road i am fairly new to the job so i expect other school crossing patrol officers have stories to tell!!I have been driving for 30yrs and have never been caught speeding ,probanly because i dont speed.

contact your local police liaison officer and ask them to join you for a few days..

i have ramps. lights .we are on a bend you think that would deter them but yes i think a chat with the community police would be a good idea.

Community police are no good, they do not have the authority to stop drivers, use the proper police.

I live next to a school and a school crossing. I can say with virtual certainty that almost all the inconsiderate driving and especially parking taking place at or around the school is caused by idle parents of the schoolkids who want to pick up and drop off as quick as it is remotely feasible to do so.

I have reported one or two to the police on occasion and in fairness the police have dealt with the matter and on one occasion took further action against a driver who continued to ignore polite warnings with her parking.
