I bought the GHD's with the iron oil, and I hate it!! Some people love it but it smells just like washing up liquid to me and makes my hair feel horrible! So I use different heat protectors such as Trevor Sorbie Smooth and Sleek, and the Reken Extreme Anti Snap leave-in treatment is good also. There are loads out there that are alot cheaper than the GHD spray and they work really well. As for the GHD straighteners, I love them and they don't make my hair greasy in the slightest! Although do be careful not to over use them as they are extremely hot and could easily damage your hair.

There are many cheaper and better iron oils out there than the GHD version, go for one of those. Personally I like the one by L'Oreal *don't know name!*.

I use GHD's and my hair doesn't become greasy, but that's because i don't use them twice a day, like some people i know! Their hair is slighlty greasier and it looks rather fake, like it doesn't move. GHD's are great, but don't over-use them, like Casey said!

thank very much, i'll take that in mind. And i know what you mean about people looking like they have fake hair casue it doesnt move ;o)
There is also something else called Thermal Protecter which you spray on ur hair whilst wet and it protects the hair from heat damage from straighteners and hair dryers etc.  I use it and its very good, also keeps hair sleek and shiny
i use the trevor sorbie stuff with my ghd's and find it works really well.
anything you can buy for your hair to protect it is ood, taking in ming it smells, slthough people say go cheap i think you should not buy the dearest but stay in a good price range....watever u do dont buy toni and guy brand name big products, they are useless trust me i used to work in toni and guy

I had some ghd's as a n early x-mas present, and I was using using them everyday with L'Oreal Hot Straight (the one that Beyonce advertises), which is good but because I was straightening my hair everyday, I got bad split ends. I stopped using them and then my hair went greasy; but I think that was because my hair was repairing itself.

So I would use some sort of protection product (although I wouldn't recommend the ghd one) as they do work, just don't use your straighteners everyday. BIG MISTAKE I MADE!!!
