I have noticed that in many shops Tulips are on offer or discounted. Why, in early February, is this? Surely they haven't been grown over the winter? If they had been grown in greenhouses or in the Southern Hemisphere, the prices would be a lot higher and definately not on offer?

The tulips are grown in the Netherlands in greenhouses in massive quantities which keeps the price low.
