DAB Clock Radio....

Does anyone know why my DAB clock radio keeps losing time. When I plugged it in it sets itself to the right time and then sometime during the day it loses 15 mins. It doesnt lose time when the radio is on because then it quickly gains any lost time only in standby mode, so that when I set my alarm for 6.45 in the morning it comes on at what is actual time of 7.00 am.

Short of setting the alarm for 6.30 to get the right time, does anyone know why this is happening.

Depends on where you live afcjan. In Norfolk the clocks are usually 10yrs slow:-D
Is it not a battery powered clock like on a computer tower?

no its plugged in Dot, no batteries involved. its very strange.

haha carrust, its great for when u come in late or spend too much time on the computer tho, and yr partner doesnt know just how late you are.
so how does the radio clock keep the time working with no power? You say you plug it in , not that you leave it plugged in.
I guess it is broken. I'm no expert but I can't see the DAB radio part affecting the clock timing part

It sets itself to the right time ? In which case it must be picking up the timing radio signal. And afterwards it loses time, in which case it is either no longer using the radio signal after setting, or it fails to receive it.

Sounds to me as if it is using some kind of inadequate back up system to keep time when it can't find the radio signal.

Since it corrects when you put the radio on, maybe it only looks for/finds the timing radio signal when the radio is switched on ?

Take it back to the shop under warranty, and complain.
