Wedding ring metals - palladium?

I've been looking at wedding rings recently and I've never liked the colour of gold so I decided I wanted a white gold ring. Having made enquiries I've realised that white gold is actually yellow gold with a finish that makes it white, but this can rub off bringing the yellow through.

I've seen palladium rings which are apparently part of the platinum family. These are around the same price as white gold but I'm wondering are they worth it, and will they retain their value in the future the way gold supposedly does?

I don't know whether my yellow gold wedding ring has kept its monitary value, and I don't care.

To me it's priceless.
According to wikipedia white gold is an alloy of yellow gold and another metal, often palladium. An alloy means that there are two metals mixed together so I would have thought it unlikely that one would rub off.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colored_gold

btw I agree with tim, you shouldn't really be worrying about the future value of your wedding ring!
Good "White Gold " rings are made of gold, palladium and silver, sometimes rhodium. these do not necessarily cost more but dealers do add to it.Yellow gold is copper, silver and gold.
I had a white gold wedding ring for 18 years, it was a bark finish, the bark effect wore off over the years but there was never any sign of any yellow coming through. I'd never heard of that until someone mentioned it a couple of weeks back!
I've had a white gold bracelet, and the clasp went yellow after a lot of wear.

I didn't wanna come across as if I was making an investment with my wedding ring. I suppose what I was meant to ask was are palladium rings, as a metal, worth the money charged for them as opposed to gold rings.
whether the finish wear off or not will depend on whether the ring is solid or plated - if it is plated, the inner part of the ring is made of a cheaper meatl and then coated with the more expensive finish and could conceivably start to show through after some wear and tear. If the ring is solid then there is nothing to wear away and therefore should retain its colour/finish.
Palladium is a very soft metal, jewellery will wear quickly.
