Shop Window Dummies

Anyone know where I can buy shop window dummies *mannekins/mannequins* ?...but not on-line. Ta Muchly.

A dummy shop. I'm sure every high street has one.

So I can use them for models for my paintings...to pose them...not eat 'em Cap'n!

Look out for any High Street fashion shop that's closing down and approach them. It's the cheapest way you'll get one. (Maybe even free!!)

If you cannot find any Mannequins for sale, try your local Sex Shop as they will have full size Blow up Dolls which you could use instead. :-)

Woodelf, if you have time to go out to the big department stores, ask them if they have any spare and would like to sell it to you. Sometimes they have spares or old ones thrown in a corner in the storeroom / warehouse. Hope all is well with you.

are there any art schools/ colleges near yo?! They may have an idea where you could get hold of them? May be worth a shot?

Does it have to be life size? If not, art shops and even the bargain shops like The Works have little wooden models about 12 inches high that you can pose for drawing and painting. I know that you are blind, so they may be too small or not sufficiently detailed for you.

Hi Sachs, hadn't thought of that one, will give it a shot and so too for yours Society....I'm fine. That's a nice thought Annie, but yes, they would be a bit too small and it's not the detail as such, more so that I can pose them...and Thanks to all the other guys for their info.
