Which browser are you using? And does it happen if you use other browsers?
Question Author
Using IE and I don't have any other browsers, but this only started yesterday and I am
getting fed up with it because it is happening about every 6 or 7 mins. the last one
was from "simply.com" something about advertising my web sites.
Sounds lke Malware or a virus to me. Download Malewarebytes and run a quick scan on your PC.
As above, but don't run a quick scan, run a full scan

Thanks for your answers, come to think of it last week I had a message appear from
my free version of AVG anti virus saying "trojan horse detected & removed" would this
be anything to do with it,
Could well be. Has the problem stopped since you did the scan?
Question Author
Thank you all, I downloaded it and ran a quick scan and it has found 104 infections
including trojan horse along with quite a few other "nasties" I will run a full scan at lunchtime when I go for my daily pint...
Question Author
Yes the problem seems to have stopped since the scan and removal of the
infections, so fingers crossed, but a big thank you to you all!!
I get maybe one a year ... if that ... and you have 104!

All the more reason to get shot of Free AVG ... It's not what it's cracked up to be. Get a good paid one .. like Norton 2010 AV.
