Why am i not getting the blonde colour i want from home hair dye?
I have naturally dark blonde/lightest brown hair (level 6/7) which i have been getting professional highlights in for the last 5 years. However, i have recently been unhappy with the golden colour that my hairdresser charges a fortune for so have decided to dye my hair myself. First i tried garnier nutrisse creme shade 8 vanilla blonde and got the same golden/strawberry blonde colour that my hairdresser had given me, which i was happy with for 5 pounds. But i really want an ash blonde colour to match my eyebrows and skin tone, so today i used shade 9.1 light ash blonde. However, this has given me exactly the same colour. Why? What am i doing wrong? Can anybody recommend an at-home treatment that i can use? Please help. Thank you

I never had highlights but decided to go straight into dyeing it, i used a garnier dye but i cant remember what it was called, it had no ammonia so smelt lovely but that also gave me a strawberry blonde colour that i didnt like. so then i tried clairol nice 'n' easy and im so sorry i cant remember the colour but the picture looks platinum blonde, the girl has straight hair and it is sort of fanned out from her face as if there is a fan infront of her. I love my colour now! It's not near platinum blonde which i was nervous about because i used two bottles of it but it's just a nice blondey-blonde for summer. Don't knwo if this is much help but just thought i'd share it! Good luck
