I know i know, it's still only July, but is anyone else starting to think about the long old winter ahead and starting to prepare for it?

I was caught out last year, and spent ruddy months shivering, so i'm determined not to be the same this year.

I bought a sausage dog thingy this morning from Oxfam (£1.99- bargain!), for bottom of my front door as the wind howls through that, im also on the look out for lined curtains to back the front door with (howling wind again).

I'm also scouting Ebay for thermal vests for me and Mini Boo, Mr Boo refuses to wear them (silly sod can freeze to death then) and im also nosying round for thermal fleecy throws for the sofa.

So.....anyone else preparing? Is it too soon for anyone else to do it yet? and am I incredibly sad?

Get knitting plenty of bobble hats for new-baby B00............
I suppose I shall now... We moved into a new house a few months ago and there are lots of drafty bits around. Were talking about them all the other day in preparation. I guess it is good for energy saving also, keeping the warm in!

(I might start looking for new boots for this winter as mine have died and they're always cheaper in the summer).

I know im sad, but today i thought it was a little bit nippy, well, nippier than its been anyway, and whilst out and about I spotted the door sausage thingy and it's got me thinking ya see, yes I surprised myself with that one too!
yeh, yeh, I know Greed :-o(
Sausage dogs!

Maybe I should just get a real one and train him well?
door sausage thing?
aarrgghh...I just dread the winter...this flat is never warm enough-even with the heat on lots. It will get warm-ish downstairs....but up is an icebox.
Maybe a sausage dog on the windows will help....;-(

Haha Jack, i was talking to the ex mother in law last week, and she knitted shedloads of stuff for Lucas and she pointed out that it's actually cheaper to buy cardies, hats etc than it is to knit them, and besides that- i cant knit ;-)

Love you too vibra, well, i know you, sort of.
You can buy those brush type excluders from DIY shops for a few pounds. They do a great job at blocking the gaps!

Yeah bobbs, them long sausagy type things you put on the floor against a door to stop the draughts, do they have a proper name?
i'm growing my hair extra long so i can wrap it all around me, saving the need to buy a scarf
I buy throws all the time, I own a worrying amount of throws, I think I have a problem with it personally
lmao

do you have double glazing Pasta? I've been reading that if you don't and it gets mega cold again you can put bubble wrap on the windows, supposed to help a bit. Looks Godawful I guess but if it gets the room a few degrees warmer!

I'm also scouring here for other ideas
