I know i know, it's still only July, but is anyone else starting to think about the long old winter ahead and starting to prepare for it?
I was caught out last year, and spent ruddy months shivering, so i'm determined not to be the same this year.
I bought a sausage dog thingy this morning from Oxfam (£1.99- bargain!), for bottom of my front door as the wind howls through that, im also on the look out for lined curtains to back the front door with (howling wind again).
I'm also scouting Ebay for thermal vests for me and Mini Boo, Mr Boo refuses to wear them (silly sod can freeze to death then) and im also nosying round for thermal fleecy throws for the sofa.
So.....anyone else preparing? Is it too soon for anyone else to do it yet? and am I incredibly sad?
I suppose I shall now... We moved into a new house a few months ago and there are lots of drafty bits around. Were talking about them all the other day in preparation. I guess it is good for energy saving also, keeping the warm in!
Both well Bobbs ,and as it happens both here, and both snoring!!
I know im sad, but today i thought it was a little bit nippy, well, nippier than its been anyway, and whilst out and about I spotted the door sausage thingy and it's got me thinking ya see, yes I surprised myself with that one too!
aarrgghh...I just dread the winter...this flat is never warm enough-even with the heat on lots. It will get warm-ish downstairs....but up is an icebox.
Maybe a sausage dog on the windows will help....;-(
Haha Jack, i was talking to the ex mother in law last week, and she knitted shedloads of stuff for Lucas and she pointed out that it's actually cheaper to buy cardies, hats etc than it is to knit them, and besides that- i cant knit ;-)
do you have double glazing Pasta? I've been reading that if you don't and it gets mega cold again you can put bubble wrap on the windows, supposed to help a bit. Looks Godawful I guess but if it gets the room a few degrees warmer!
