Central Heating and air conditioning
I am about to have central heating fitted to my house and I wondered if there was some kind of air conditioning system that could be fitted as well - not the large units that you can get from the local DIY stores but a smaller discreet wall attached unit.
Would it be costly if it is possible

AC units, by their definition, have the facility to be fed from both warm air or refrigerated air sources, so they have to have the facility to pass air over fins that are either hot or cold. Industrial / commercial units often do this in one central place, then use ducting to feed each space-heating requirement.
Maybe The Builder has some better ideas.
UFH doesn't work like AC at all. It merely warms the floor as a means to providing spaceheating by convection.

From which the following is taken:
"Today, most underfloor heating systems are either warm water (wet) systems or electric (dry) systems. If you install a wet system, the pipes are usually laid and then buried in a screed or run underneath the floor covering. The wet system operates by heat being transferred from the water which is circulated through the pipes under the floor surface. This results in the whole floor surface being kept at the same temperature. Most systems use water between 45 & 65oC, warming the floor to a comfortable 25-28oC."
Doesn't sound much like a cooling system to me. Do you actually know anything about these things coccinelle? - or do you merely believe the marketing blurb you read?

The Principle of Underfloor/Wall Cooling
With floor / wall heating the temperature of the surrounding surfaces is raised resulting in the most comfortable way of heating we know at this moment, namely, radiant heat.
With floor / wall cooling this principle is reversed. Cooled water flows though WTH underfloor heating tube which reduces the temperature of the surrounding surfaces creating a comfortable inner climate without the disadvantages that air cooling systems have, such as draughts and air pollution and expensive ducting. An additional advantage of floor / wall cooling is that the external construction of the building accumulates less warmth, reducing the heat built up.
To reply to buildersmate's question: Yes, I do know something about it as I have both friends and family with this kind of heating and cooling system.
There was no need for such a snide remark... how pompous!

OK, apologise unreservedly for the snide remark.
However this method of running UFH is really, really rare in the UK. I have never heard of it and ALL the companies who I have ever dealt with (over 10) do not fit it. I accept that I had never heard of this company that you pulled out. You didn't explain you had a special sort of UFH that runs in reverse with cold water - you merely stated that 'underfloor heating works like that' - which it doesn't.

Augment luxurious standard of living with dynamic contribution of used Air conditioner that does not accelerate consumption of electrical units rather rewards you with its cooling capacity. Relishing features of used items sometimes cause irritation but if you check before time performance, it will be convenient to manage without facing mechanical issues. Every model including Ductless AC, Split AC, Portable AC, and Window AC are available in recycled form, you just have to define your AC requirements to the dealer and he leads you to the right selection of affordable cooling device. Air conditioners not only control temperature to bring it to comfortable level but also purify air.
