Digital camera

I want to buy a very cheap digital camera so that I can download photographs onto the internet (eBay etc). I am not a photographer and not very good with technology. I don't want to spend a lot but want to buy something complete ie that I won't have to start looking for other bits of equipment. I've had a look around but the choices overwhelmed me! I would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions. Many thanks

If you are just looking for something cheap and easy, then take a look at argos. If you only want standard size photos, then something as low as 5MP would be sufficient, and you can pick these up for less than £50. If you only want it for small pictures to put onto Ebay, then an even cheaper Canera with less MP's would do the job ok.I have a 12MP Camera, and to be honest I can see virtually no difference in quality, unless I print the picture out on A4 sized paper. You wont need loads of other bits as most cameras come with any software and cables that are required.

If you have a mobile phone with an in-built camers, why not use that. it will usually be sufficient for the purpose you require.

Be wary! It is not only the Mbs that signify good or average photographs. The quality of the lens is of equal importance. I managed to pick up a Canon Powershot A460 at a reduced price, 5 Mps but a good lens. It cost me, some little time ago, around £60.

Further to my reply earlier today, Argos are advertising the Canon Powershot A490 for £59.99 - 3x optical zoom, 2.5 in LCD screen, AA batteries, 10 mp. My A460 also has a viewfinder but I don't know about this one. Extremely useful on bright days!
