Latest report sent to consumerdirect.gov.uk
"Dear sir/madam,
I am a regular visitor to a UK based web forum called The Answerbank. It is a moderated and well-run site with a set of working rules and code of conduct.
Recently the site has been 'spammed' every night by what appears to be an online scam attempt. On each occasion at least two or three 'throw-away' poster names are registered and what appears to be a false story designed to draw potential victims to their sites.
The purpetrators are trying to sell handbags, watches and shoes using the following web addresses:
http://www.watch-youbags.com/
http://www.2009bags.com/
http://www.coach-bag.org/
http://www.4bag4.com/
http://www.bag15.com/
I have inspected the sites as have one or two other posters and there appear to be no contact addresses, telephone numbers, not even a hint as to which country they are based in. One other poster also reported that they use Western Union as a means of payment.
Is there anything you can do to look into this?
I would be grateful for any further advice.
Thank you in advance"
