Dotty, I know it can be very tough for high street retailers, particularly with electrical and media items. It's difficult for on-line retailers too. I used to work for a company called CD WOW. As the name suggests, we sold CD's and DVD's and at one time were one of the most popular places for online shopping in the UK. A few years the competition got the better of us and the whole operation had to be bought out by an aussie company, making everyone in the UK office redundant. The fact of the matter is that times move on and businesses have to try and keep up with modern mediums. As we have seen this week, no business is fail proof and this will hopefully make some people realise that the high street is still very much needed. However for a lot of people money is a big deal and when you can make a vast saving by shopping on line, for a lot of people it's the best option.
