If you get a dvd delivered to you, as long as you don't have to have it signed for, will it fit through the letter box (with the packaging), incase nobody's at home?

Yes.
I would think so Molly, measure one of your DVDs and your letterbox, add a couple of inches for packing.
Depending on how big your letter box is I suppose and how big the package is but normal yes.

Thanks, i didn't have a clue. Plus if you buy it online, will it say if it will be recorded dilvery or not? or give you the option?
Measure your letter box, then measure a DVD. The answer will be blindingly obvious.
Have you got it from Amazon? if so it will be in a jiffy bag that fits through the letterbox and doesn't need signing for.
if from play it would fit through letterbox.

It would be sent by standard post and not need to be signed for

SB I don't know how big they are in jiffy bags though.
The site will tell you how it is being posted. You often have to select a post option so just go for first class.
You would be paying extra for recorded delivery and the website will tell you.
You're kidding right? It is obviously a little larger that a DVD. Come on Molly, these are basic common sense questions you are asking.
Molly if it's a single DVD sent in a jiffy bag, it will fit.
sometimes they come in a box too - but they still fit in the letterbox.
Well, as an ex postie I can tell you that most boxes you can, although not everyone has a standard box. For instance older house sometimes have boxes that were quite suitable in their day but are useless now.

Thanks, we've ordered them, as we couldn't find them in the shops.
Depends how big the dvd is! For example the limited edition copy of Family Guys "ITS A TRAP" will NOT fit in a standard letter box.
No DVD fits through our letterbox as we're in a block of flats with a true letter box rather than just a hole in the door and they aren't deep enough for the DVD to fit through the mouth and fall down into the box :(
If it's a box set then it might not fit, same if it's 2 from Amazon (they tend to put them both side by side in one box). Apart from that, if you have a standard sized letter box then it should fit and will not be recorded delivery unless stated on the site you bought it from.
You need to look at how thick it is as it may need to be sent as a package.
usually yes, but some DVDs come in bigger packages than others, and some packaging (for sending) is bigger than others too. Plus the size of your letterbox will make a difference. But an ordinary size DVD will fit through an ordinary size letterbox.

They usually come as ordinary mail ad don't have to be signed for.
