Joan Crawford's Shoes

I have found a pair of shoes carefully packaged in their own bag that my late mother in law told me were given to her by Joan Crawford whom they met in the late 50's early 60's in Antigua I think.
How could I sell these to a collector? I realise that I have no proof that they are what she said and probably the best way would be, if I could find a photo of Joan wearing them. A slim chance I'm sure.
Any ideas?
