I've been skinned for another ink cartridge(HP21) - I see there are cheaper generic versions available - has anyone tried them and which site(s) could u recommend.

Thanks

I wouldn't. I have seen dozens of printers wrecked by using cheap/refilled cartridges.
Not had problems with cartridges bought on line, but there again I choose known reputable sites and look for genuine rather than equivalent cartridges.

Mind you, with printers so relatively cheap these days it may pay you to shorten its life and save on the rip-off price consumables. Wonder how many it takes to mess it up ?

dozens squarebear - do you work with printers?
I used to work in IT support yes.

Thanks guys - I might try the HP ones online rather than generic - £16.99 at PC World for 5ml of ink seems excessive in this economic climate and they don't last long - possibly due to printing off Xwords!

I buy generic cartridges from here with only one problem ever. It was an Epson generic that just wouldn't print. They swapped it out immediately with no quibble. No other problems...
