spring mac

Hi

Just bought a long belted spring mac and noticed that at the base of it at the back there are two threads sewn in to make an x. It is sewn in holding the slit at the back together. Now my mate told me to cut it, as the slit is meant to be open, and then another told me to leave it, as its supposed to be like that.

What am I supposed to do! Has this happened to anyone else?

lolol what a dilemma. This huge event has never "happened" to me, but my advice would be to ask yourself how yoy like it, not how your friends think it should be!

Cut it, you might find the pockets are stitched together too. Manufacturers put in these tacking stitches to hold the shape of the garment whilst on the hanger. You are supposed to take them out once you've bought it.

or, wear it a few times and the stitches will come out by themselves probably!
