Right we are buying a new car and are trying to find out what it will be like towing our caravan...the car we are looking at is a Fiat Stilo1.9 JTD dynamic (reg 31.01.04). When I go to enter it into "whattowcar" its coming up with 2 different models:
1.9 JTD 59kW/80pk (1/2009-7/2007) OR
1.9 JTD 85kW/114pk (1/2003-7/2007
I have worked out that the larger of the two numbers is a better car for towing but how and where do i find out which one of these the car i am looking at to buy is????
I've called the garage and they have looked on the reg document and they can not find anything and didnt know what i was talking about! Any info would be appriciated!
Thank you
The second car will have about 45% more "poke" than the first. In the service record of the car there should be info regarding the engine fitted to that particular car- this often affects servicing requirements etc. and will affect emissions (and probably amount of road-tax).
One might hope that the second engine has better torque than the first- again, the figures SHOULD be available somewhere in the car's paperwork. Don't expect useless Fiat dealers to help, though.
