what are the cameras called from th'olden days? You know, the ones with a cloth at the back. Thank you!

Camera.....or glass-plate camera
I think it depended on the size of the glass plate. Full plate (8x6) half plate(6x4) and so on
I think there also was a 20x16 polaroid view camera.....Good luck and possibly good fun with these! You might need some super-glue for the soles of your shoes to the ceiling though so you can view things the right way up (+ a mirror)!!!
The earliest cameras were "Camera Obscura" but these were just novelties and didn't have film or plates to record the image.
It's from Camera obscura that we get the name "camera".
