Is there anybody collecting stamps nowadays? It seems to be a hobby that has died a death. When I was a child everybody collected stamps and many made it a lifetime (and expensive) hobby.
I have a largeish collection from years back which I was recently thinking of disposing of.

Two of my Grandchildren , 9 and 6 years both collect, not really the pricey end, but is nice they are enthusiastic about it.

I always save stamps off post & donate to charity. PO annoy me with those large gold stamps instead of collectible standards
Yes I have 100s of stamps in two large albums, don't think I have added to my collection for about 40 years. I used to specialise in pre 1971 British. As you say we don't hear of many kids collecting these days.
I;ve still got my stamp albums from childhood, plus boxes of first day covers which I collected from (I think) the early sixties until around the 1980s. I'll look at that valuation site - I really don't want them any more!

I am similar to dennisb and boxtops and I suspect there are thousands like us with old collections. I found in the past when I took more interest in them that valuations were usually way above what is realistic if you actually went to sell them.
