I wanted some pipe cleaners to make legs for little animals I'm making.

Thankfully, the person in the craft shop was an older lady so knew what I meant - but they call them "Chenille Sticks" these days!

You are so right - they are 4p each - and they're not fluffy, more acrylic. OH says I should go to a tobacconist!
