Black dolls are unloved, it's just another example of how racist our society is.
Someone has tried to redress the balance and got carried away.

New day - same subject!
Seriously ,if dolls are identical then the price should be too - the only caveat in a business sense would be when you had large stock of a product not selling and put it on at a sale price.
AOG, your posts are a gift that keeps on giving!

...and they're not actually "black" and "white" - more brown and pink.
Something else to moan about?
It is almost Christmas.
Mamya, at a guess, black families are poorer so you have to price lower to sell to them.

I'm not sure why the Sun is proud of getting prices put up.

why should white families pay more for their dolls.

It isn't compulsory. If you think they cost too much, don't buy one. Or buy (shudder) a black doll?
Just a guess.......but black dolls will not sell unless discounted, as kids would prefer white dolls.............supply and demand.

It is difficult to get rid of black cats in an animal sanctuary as they are less popular as other coloured cats.
It took three Christmas lists before I got my long awaited black doll as a child - it wasn't until later I discovered it was because they were more expensive then.

I bought my youngest Grandson a black doll he fell in love with when he was two - he used to take her to bed.
From your January thread

Life Was Much Easier Before Multiculturalism

If anyone should complain it is those who want to buy a white doll, why are they more expensive?
That's what AOG said in his OP...
Which OP, ummmm? This one or the one from January?
Tesco and Toy R us are primarily interested in making the maximum amount of money. They will sell more white dolls in a country where the majority of the population have a white skin colour, so there is no point in discounting it. If the black skin doll sale numbers are 80% less than the white one, then a discount will increase sales and increase profits of that product. It the white doll sells 80% more, then a discount will decrease profits.
Anyone thinking this is a discrimination (or positive discrimination) issue, do not understand sales and demand.
This one.
Okay thanks. That's why I mentioned it- the same point has been raised and discussed before. But I suppos ethere's no harm in raising it again if there are no real news issues to support one's agenda/obsession
Perhaps there are more rejects in the production of light coloured dolls since imperfections in manufacture will show up more readily. The manufacture of black dolls can use cheaper recycled plastics since any imperfections will be hidden by the dark pigment. Total bowlocks..really.
The black one seems to have bigger eyes and a bigger nose. Have they done that on purpose to stereotype black people?
which one is the black one?
