Knitting Pattern Help - Rico Strickidee Compact - Creative Melange Chunky 016 - Scarf
5 Answers
Good evening
I am currently knitting this "scarf", but I would say it is more of a shawl.
The pattern reads as follows:
"Scarf instruction
Using thumb method cast on 88 sts.
1st row. * k3, yfwd, k2togbl, rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
2nd row. Purl.
1st and 2nd rows set patt.
Keeping continuity of patt as set (throughout) cont until work measures 55cm, ending with a ws row."
HERE IS WHERE I AM HAVING THE ISSUE.
"Divide for sleeve opening
Next row. Patt 31, cast off 26 sts, patt 31.
Next row. P31, cast on 26, p31.
Cont without shaping until work measures 135cm from 26 cast on sts, ending with a ws row. Cast off in patt.
To complete
Cover in a damp cloth and leave to dry."
I am a bit confused as to what the two rows above add.
If you google the pattern, the cover shows a scarf with pattern theoughout, so these random two rows 1/4 of the way through are made no clearer.
Any ideas?
