How Could I Make Something Wok In My Story?
7 Answers
So I have an idea in my head of a young woman named Ann. Ann was imbued with either a fragment of a cosmic being called the force, or the force its self and her are bonded together. After some time she is corrupted by its power (the force gives her the power of a god). The reason why is because the force is an evil entity. A woman named Constance and Benjamin, who is Ann's father, try to control the force when maybe the force is taken out of Ann.
I don't know if this could work because I have a lot of ideas like what if maybe Benjamin was dead or both him and Constance and they try to take control of it. And maybe Ben's soul is gone from his body but he somehow was infused with the technology of my setting. My story takes place in 1895 and the setting is a steampunk world because of some discoveries.
My protagonist (who is Mark) of the story goal is to save Ann and probably get the force out of her by maybe getting her back to her senses and then use maybe a device, and escort her out of the city. Constance would take control of the force then Benjamin would take control of the force and he would be the main antagonist. How could I make it work, I'm kind of stuck right now?

Sounds a standard possession variation story. But surely the skill of the author is to reach through that block rather than bolt someone else's suggestion onto the story foundations ? Why not try to progress by writing less interesting stuff they do, that won't go into the final draft, until one of the characters does something interesting ?
^ Good advice !
I think the story is way too complicated, I 'lost the plot' halfway down the 1st paragraph!
I am constantly amazed by the number of would be authors who come on AB to ask us to write the story for them.
Sorry, but if you don't have the ideas you should not be attempting to be an author in the first place!
