Something I'd like to know, too, Kev - they drive me potty, as do the collared doves with their incessant coo COO coo coo COO coo, all the year round. I've often wished I had an airgun!

As I understand it the pigeons are not classed as a protected species and you can shoot them any where you have permission to shoot. There are some rules about the power of your rifle and making sure that your pellets (even if contained in a bird) dont end up on someone elses land.
You should be very careful with the potential for richochets and not killing the bird cleanly though. You dont need a gun licence for an air gun if its under a certain power.
Much better to shoot them with a camera, Kev......shooting with a gun's an odd thing to want to do...though it's legal....with rules that many gun owners seem unable to adhere to.....
You're fortunate really.....imagine being blind and never seeing a bird.......or deaf and never hearing a bird......
Where I come from shooting a bird is believed to bring down bad fortune on the shooter....so be careful......x
