Tomorrow, we’re going to a fancy pants place to have a champagne afternoon tea, a Mother’s Day present from our children which we’ve only just got round to using.
On Friday, we’re going out for brunch which will be a full works cooked breakfast, no champagne but plenty of orange juice and coffee.
Not sure which I’m looking forward to most, I do like afternoon tea but I also thoroughly enjoy a cooked breakfast as I never make one at home. We did have one in Scotland a couple of weeks ago which included haggis, it was one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve ever had.
Next month we have a tasting menu with wine flight booked at a restaurant we’ve not been to before, a Father’s Day present for himself.
Yum.
My daughter treated us to afternoon tea. It was fantastic but far too much. We managed about half but you could take the rest home in a box so we did. Another table with a group with bigger appetites did the same.
We opened the box when we got home. Two scones and half a sandwich. :-(
They must have been delighted when they opened "their" box.
They’re good children.
We had a big family get together last month for someone’s special birthday, it’s not often these days we’re all in the same place at the same time and it was a total delight to see the little ones in the next generation all enjoying each other’s company as much as their parents do.
We’ll definitely enjoy our foodie treats :)
