If You Had A Twin, But Didn't Realise...

Well, it's blue(ish) sky, sunny and calm at the mo outside. MrSmow is off in a sec to visit a work client and isn't back till tomorrow so I have an evening of un-interrupted TV of my choice this eve lol. I would say daytime TV too but I never put the TV on in the day apart from weekends. (God knows what's on in the daytime anyway!)
MY MIL is giving me baby Theo's Xmas present today to drive down to Devon with me on Friday, rather than post it directly there. We were talking about mad postage costs in general, especially 1st class stamps, and even tho she has no money worries herself she says she is really cutting down who she sends a Xmas card to this year. Said half the people on her card list she prob hasn't spoken to for years! So it's getting a brutal culling lol!
So anyone got any plans today? Deliveries due? Going out, or shopping? Have a fab day anyway x

The weather was bright and sunny so decided to take ourselves off for a 4 mile very hilly walk. Well there are only hills here.
There was also the ages it took us to find Mr U's door keys after he put them down 'somewhere'. At one stage I thought he may have dropped them in the bins with the leaves.
Yes, we enjoy our walking, we used to do up to 13 miles when on holidays. Not so much now we are in our 70's and Mr U has a ceramic hip. Yesterday we walked mainly along the coast and the views out to sea with the sun shining on it were fantastic. Don't have any choice about the hills here, you can't go anywhere without going up and down them.
Morning Everyone. Nothing special for me today. However, my little dog J is going to be so excited when he realises his BFF has returned from his holiday at about 3pm this afternoon. J will smell him just before he arrives and go potty for the first half an hour then settle down and lick him all over for as long as he stays in my flat.
Nothing much doing here, as usual lately.
It's 5 weeks today since I fell and broke my shoulder. I am desperate to get out. Sat in my car on Saturday and couldn't even MOVE the gear stick, let alone get the handbrake off :(
Hope it's not too much longer.
It's a beautiful sunny day here today, could really do with a trip out, fed up of these 4 walls.
Sorry for moaning.
I do hope everyone has a smashing day :)
Oops...just past morning here. So good afternoon! Bright and sunny here too. Am going to give the kitchen a clean and get some recycling downstairs. I hate the stairs here...they get slippery in wet weather. It's not good when carrying rubbish down 2 flights...with dodgy knees.
Anyway...I've got a new under counter fridge coming on Thursday...and a man to look at the boiler. I hope they are not at the same time! The person I called last week can't get his butt in gear. So I contacted my energy supplier...and hopefully they will be on the ball. I didn't go to them to start with as I thought the initial outlay for a repair was huge...there was another more manageable option.
Good afternoon all, as it was such lovely weather I went out this morning to catch up until next weekend.
Pastsfreak think very carefully about your boiler. The average life span of a boiler is about 16yrs and I think you said yours was 14yrs old. If this repair is going to be expensive I really think you should consider a new boiler. I know that it will a lot dearer but it might work out cheaper in the long run. What do others think?
The past 2 services I've had, I was told it was in good order. Plus, before contacting my supplier last night I had a big of a brainstorm regarding the problem. Earlier this year, I had my old dryer removed...it was under the wall where the boiler is. There is a vent hole...partially exposed. Apparently strong drafts can affect the pilot light. In the summer I had several weeks of the hot water not immediately coming on. That started again about 3 weeks ago...then no hot water...and no burner light. So,maybe my pilot light went out due to wind.Or it's coincidence.
I'm hoping that is all it is. I did a repair with contract...so it will be a monthly DD... and will cover future repairs and parts.
If not...then I'll need to look into getting a new one. Well, I probably will anyway. I'm on pension credit and just think there are grants or similar for us.
Thanks for your concern calda x
