Big shot die cutter

Does anyone know if the Big Shot Die cutter takes wooden dies please. There seems to be more unusual dies in this type

Yes it does, I've googled Cross Cuts which is one of the wooden manufacturers and they say that all of their dies will work in a BS however they then say that the compact dies work, but don't mention the standard dies. There is a website here which list all of the die and machine compatability which should help. I love my BS although I haven't used any wooden dies in it, I have used all sorts of other things like the cuttlebug embossing folders, quickutz dies, and brass stencils. sometimes you need to have a bit of a play and build up the height with spare bits of card or the spare cutting plates in order to get a good cut. Thank you so much for replying only dies so far are tiny and very fiddly and I saw some wooden ones which looked intriguing. Very new to all of this. Thanks for you interest and encouragement i will check out that site. thanks again. Sorry can I ask a liitle more. You mentioned brass stencils but most of the ones i've seen don't have the embossing folder bit. Am I becoming more confused? I thought they came with emboss folders. Sorry to be a pain, but hope you will drop a line if you get a chance. Obviously when it is convenient for you.

the brass stencils I mentioned don't have an embossing folder, I know the ones you mean that include this and they will work as well, but ordinary brass stencils will work as long as the design isn't too complicated with lots of fiddly holes. I can't remember the correct 'sandwich' of cutting plates and embossing mat off hand, but I am sure if you wanted to do this you can find the correct info by googling ( forgot to mention to you need either the wizard tan embossing mat or a substitute, I know people have used a cycle inner tube, I have used a silicone baking 'tin' from Poundland which I cut up). If you have any more questions I am more than happy to help if I can. I have been card making for several years now and sell my cards so I always like to try out new things to help increase the sales.
