Craft mosaic

What would the best STUFF to use on wine bottles to squish decorative bits onto (beads,buttons, shells)? I'm visualising a sort of tile grout effect around each object to take up the curves BUT need something that won't make the whole thing too heavy OR end up too brittle.

Plaster of Paris. Mix powder to a thick creamy paste, the coat article with it, it would do wine bottles and lots of other things. While damp, press into paste your decorations.
