Company is going to introduce urine testing of employees later this year (supposedly to stamp out drug use etc...) anyway....what will show up in the tests......will all drugs show up? How long would it take to flush out your system ....is there any instant remedy to flushing out your system of any legal/illegal drugs that might be sloshing around?

If you are doing drugs then i suggest stoping because it can kill you in the long run. Also ask your self if the drugs that you are doing is not safe then just don't do it. It only takes a few weeks for you system to flush only if you stop taking or doing drugs.
This really pee's me off (excuse the pun) . How dare any company think they have the right to legislate against what we do in our spare time?
I can understand if you are a brain surgeon or airline pilot then there are issues about performing your job in a sober state. But if you are the kind of person that enjoys a spliff or two in your spare-time in the evening, then what business is that of your employer?
I don't take any sort of illegal substances myself, but I totally reject the idea that my employer should be allowed to test me for these.
If an employer wants to make sure that none of its employees take intoxicating substances out of work hours, then they sould pay its staff 24 hours a day.
As said above, all drugs will show up. Agree with kick, drugs do not kill, it is if the person abuses the drugs and the amount of drugs taken etc that will kill. You can't say stop taking drugs coz they will kill, that's like saying stop taking parecetamol when you've got a headache! But if you overdose on them then there is a chance they will kill.
I can't imagine that the company has the right to do this and would think that an employee would be perfectly entitled to refuse. I don't know the law on this sort of thing but would be interested to know what it is.
Companies can insist on medicals before you join an organisation and if your work is suffering because of a medical condition, but testing all employees' for drugs seems very suspect. Somewhat of a 'Big Brother' situation. Glad I don't work for such an organisation!
Sorry to post so late......
DON'T EAT POPPY SEEDS
This will show up on the test..... I was watching a TV Show where they actually tested this and it worked.... so be careful. Also be careful with codeine as it is a by-product of heroine (I think) and this too is picked up.... so be aware of this before you agree to be tested. :-)
Here is a website that may also shed some light on the poppyseed issue
