Do you feel the same as I do and that the Royals are doing this wedding on the cheap ?

I feel it presents a poor image to the world.
We should have made it more lavish and shown the world that UK PLC is sound and open for business.
(Could fund this by reducing the number of cancer drugs available on the NHS or cut the Winter Fuel allowance for over 80's).

I worked for a finance organisation a few years back and even in times of hardship we had a huge company Xmas bash. The reason being "It gave customers the impression we were doing well in the recession ".

On the cheap? You're joking. I read they had spent £100,000 on outfits and hotel rooms.
The expression "can't do right for doing wrong" springs to mind.

A wedding on the cheap? Depends what your idea of cheap is. Cheaper than the 'average' pleb wedding - hell no. But maybe they have been conscious of the times in some respects.
how cheap is cheap plus who cares as long as your not paying

But they are The Royal Family !!!!
£100K is nowt ...

I would be happy to see the NHS budget for my hospital cut and the money redirected to dress them in style and in the way that people who were born better than us deserve to be treated.

They should not be paying for it.
We should pay for the whole thing ...Police , Security , Cake , Flowers , dress ...Wedding snaps ...Hog Roast and free bar at the reception ...and disco

For gods sake this will be our future King and Queen one day , after Charles and Queen Camilla.

I'm imagining there is a tongue in cheek somewhere in the original post.
so far in cheek it's poking out of his left ear I think
I fell for it china, until I read the line "I would be happy to see NHS budgets cut....."

Then I smelt a rat ;-)
I think it's genuine from Andy............the amount of tax he has to pay should cover the reception............

If it was me I would want the best.
I would have not have a second thought as I read a newspaper article about one of my subjects being refused cancer drugs by Nice to prolong their life for 6 months and I would doze off to sleep pondering if I should spend £100,000 or £200,000 on my wedding cake and if Paris Hilton was a good choice for the Honeymoon night.
On the 5th of May we here in Scotland will have the opportunity of divorcing (geddit?) ourselves from the royal family and the rest of you english/german/greek nutters - have a happy easter weekend.

craft your right ....
Spot on ...
I don't want my taxes wasted on NHS spending or keeping pensioners warm in the winter or some dignity in retirement. How dare they waste my money on that.
I hope my taxes are paying for the fuel in the police helicopter to spy on the crowds and punish those who dont wave a flag and bow when the Glass carriage passes ...
Could send Gordon Brown and Tony Blair the bill as part of their retribution for the damage that they did. Blair can certainly afford it.
