thanks for your answer SOG - yes I had been an extremely hardworking civil servant for 40 years - never got a minute what with work and staff and now nothing. I have been blood tested for everything and thank God everything turned out normal except my cholesterol for which I was to go back to GP and of course I have got around to it. Maybe this causes the depression and lack of enthusiasm. I have an extensive amount of friends you would not believe it and they all want me to go to their houses, holidays, weddings etc and I dont go now because sometimes like last night I took vomiting and diarrhoea all night and now I am shattered so if I had have made arrangements with one of the friends to go out tonight I would not be able to make it I would be letting them down. I do need a real kick up the jacksie because I am one of those people who do feel sorry for people in wheelchairs and various disabilities and admire their enthusiasm for life - particularly those paralympics - I think they are wonderful and I am sitting on my big fat a se. I do think I suffer from severe depression but when the doctor gave me a antidepressant I suffered severe aftereffects. I probably sound a SOG but I am really a very funny and witty person when around company so I think loneliness plays a part of it too.

They will make you feel better - kick you into gear - it will help you get back your enthusiasm for life and out of the rut you are in.
I hope you go back to see the doctor - there are many anti-depressants and one will agree with you. They 'might' make you feel a bit worse before you feel better but stick with them.

thanks for all your answers but you know GPs you nearly only get locums who dont you very well - I have been missing out on my exercise with my little dog because of this weather and will start to go out more rain hail or snow cos I find I do feel better when I come back. This morning my stomach is rather painful and I guess it feels like strain from the vomiting but I do feel much better. Thanks to everybody who cares. But it was addressed to SOG who will probably be on later on because he/she feels like me too so it will be interesting to see what her/his answer is. bye for now. Have yous heard about the mother who had to carry her baby for 10 months - no- well she had no money to buy a pram (joke) byeeeeeeeee
