Is Keir Starmer Really Going To Arrest...
News2 mins ago
I would like to try and trace my grandfathers family, I have been trying for a while but as the only information I have about him are his birth date and name, I'm finding it a bit difficult. I know he came from Scotland, and have a vague idea of what County so what certificate would I need in order to find out his parents/ family's names? And how would I get it?
Thanks in advance.

Natalie, try www.familysearch.org which is a free to use site and, although American (mormon), covers the UK also. You can access information from the 1901 census as well as earlier ones.
Another hub for information is 'Best Internet Genealogy' on www.expertgenealogy.com/free/ .
Happy hunting!
www.familysearch.org doesn't cover Scotland unfortunately.
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk is the best site for Scottish resources.
Good luck.
