Im going to Hawaii for 4 days whilst on honeymoon- we are staying on Oahu by the Waikiki Beach which I understand is very heavily populated and built up- can anyone advise about where to go for the deserted beaches? Maybe a different island + if you know of any other good trips to go on?? Anyone been fishing over there?

Any help would be great.

I have been to Hawaii, we went to Honolulu which we really did not like, it was very built up and rowdy. Our favourite place was Maui, it was so peaceful and beautiful, you should definitely have a read up on there. Go on to google and type in Maui and check out the images, the beach is gorgeous.

I lived there over about 25 years ago after running away from home (well  if your gonna do it - do it in style) and the most beautiful island I went to was Lanai (the pineapple island).  I too lived on Oahu, but on the Naval base at Pearl Harbour, we also went to Maui as the locals were very much into the local delicacy - Maui Wowie it was called then!!  Can't say I bothered, but very popular in the 70's!!.  Where ever you go in the islands just make sure you go inland to the real hawaii, into the "forest region".  Its gorgeous!  Unless of course they have now turned those areas into bowling alleys and the like!!
