This has been asked countless times before, but I think it's valid because new members are coming and old members are going constantly.

If you could have a "one-to-one" with any AnswerBanker, who would it be and why?

Mine (thanks for asking) would be with Quizmonster and we would talk about the history of our language, trivia language facts, perculiarities of our language and etymology. We would discuss this over several pints of Deuchars IPA.

Mine too would be Quizmonster, for the same reasons as you. Also because Quizmonster seems to know much about most, so would be interesting to have discussions about all sorts with.

I don't know, although I have been using this for a few years there are few things I feel I know about Answerbank members, 1 is Quizmonster probably knows, 2 is if it relates to relationships Smudge is the one to ask.

If I was going through a rocky patch with my girlfriend it would definately be Smudge.

I can't narrow it down to one.  Quizmonster is there, of course (but no discussions about politics!), Smudge to represent the distaff side, the knowledgeable Clanad and the (long-absent) NewForester.  There are more who will surely be nominated by others.
Mine would be a meeting with Crystal Guides And I would want The AB ED to be there. We would discuss  real Important topics Over A view Pints of Bishops Finger and A couple of Bottles Of Old FART.Like Who Really is Running This site and why did they allow the username issue to go on and on,and so many more questions!!Iwould'nt take any expert googlers along,Just your everyday folk.Rod,Fastbarry,Thecorbyloon,Octavius,Graemer,And Wraith because he's such a nice chap. Then we would go off to nice pub and meet Smudge and all give her a warm cuddle.
What a question - I am relatively new to AB but there are so many of you that I would love to chat "one-to-one" In a pickle is definitely is one as he has my sense of humour, smudge, zmudge, graemer ,theCorbyloon pretty much most you.  I think you are a wonderful crowd - you forgive me my foolishness - and I feel so at home on this site.  Have burned 3 dinnners whilst hopping around the site - that is dedication!!! Love you all.
Probably RevShirls, because she always makes a good contribution. Not seen any for a while though - where are you RevShirls?, come back all is forgiven.

I'll go and eat worms then!

FP cos she is a rebel.

Definitely ElD because he is a rebel to!

And Natalie1982 because she sounds so nice and I want to meet her cat.

And Brawburg because she says exactly what she thinks!

And Smudge because she is everybodies Agony Aunt!

And everybody else as well, too numerous to mention.

Oooh, and definitely Graemer because he has a wonderful sense of humour and I accused him of not having one at all :o(, and knows just how to keep me in my place!

In turn, I would be delighted to meet and talk with everyone who has said they'd like to talk to me. I don't want this to sound like a mutual admiration society, but I'd particularly like to know Indie and Andy. (Put together like that, they sound like some sort of comedy duo!)

Indie has always astonished me with the depth of his knowledge about the minutiae of the English language, despite his age (about 1/3rd of mine) and the fact that schools haven't taught most of such stuff for decades.

Andy is clearly a man of supreme patience - unlike myself - and understanding of human nature. The 'problem' - as I see it - is that he doesn't drink, so there is no prospect that he, Indie and I could while away an evening over a few Deuchars or Timothy Taylors. Pity.

Cetti lives within a stone's throw of me and she, too, shows wide knowledge, especially of things biblical and avian, which might make for an interesting conversation.

There are too many more to name who have impressed me in one way or another.

Two or three years ago, a meeting of ABers was arranged in Glasgow but apparently did not raise much interest. I often think such things might be better arranged on a regional basis. Judging by information which has filtered through via user-names etc, there seem to be quite a few of us in Dorset/Hampshire, so perhaps a Bournemouth venue might work more effectively. Just a thought...and perhaps we would all prefer to maintain our 'mystique' as afforded by our anonymity anyway.

Thanks again to those of you who mentioned me.

Young Oiragdh behind the bar at Jinty McGinty's would also like to meet you, Quizmonster. She says that you still have her black suspender built which you promised to return when you had finished with it, but that was four months ago and its still not turned up. Without it she has been unable to cross her legs for weeks.
....belt....belt...belt...not built !!!
I was about to say andy hughes but he would rather have quizzie :-(

The Goat and Tricycle in the triangle is a great pub. myself And two more members of Answerbank go in there a couple of times every month!! Dont tell me QM and Cetti use the joint to?
The hussy, Tic! And after the glorious time I showed her! She was suffering from the same leg problem back then, too. Besides, she said I could keep it.

smudge because she's like a cool aunt. lots of you are dead cool, though i'd feel like the kid of the bunch (excluding the kids in the science section who want us to do their homework for them)

Anyone who could make it to the Bondi Pub!

Does it have to be a "One-to-one" though Indie, there's so many! And thanks Cheyenne, Netibiza and FP.I was chuffed.

  • QM for all sorts of knowledge
  • Smudge, for being so kind hearted
  • FP, for the same reason
  • Graemer, verry funny.
  • 2nd row ( gone now ) for being a maniac.

Old members such as Georgit, New Forrester etc.
