Fair Trade Coffee
Is there anywhere online, or any articles I should read to compare how fair the different brands of fair trade coffee are? I am thinking about those 'charity' chistmas cards from which only 3p per 1 went to charity. Is anyone running a similar scam?
I am glad to see that Co-op's coffee and chocolate is all fair trade. I hadn't really given the issue much thought and didn't think I would be able to afford fair trade stuff as I assumed it would cost more. I am not in the position to make a judgement apart from on cost, and Co-op's seemed pretty cheap (this is just sounding like an advert).
I remember one of my friends at uni bought some brand of fair trade coffee from some company dedicated to that sort of stuff, Clipper or something. Has fair trade stuff traditionally cost more than their unfair rivals or do they just pay a fairer price and get a slightly lower profit?
