FRENCH MUSLIMS USE OUR CASH TO FIGHT BURKHA BAN
From the Daily Express:
"A FRENCH Muslim couple sparked fury yesterday by using a free legal service paid for by British taxpayers to challenge their country’s controversial burkha ban.
The unnamed husband and wife claim they were forced to move to Britain from France by the new law which prevents women wearing the veil in public."
Pretty shocking isn't it? Or it would be, if it wasn't a complete lie.
At the bottom of the article, is the following:
"[teh Immigration Advisory Service] receives approximately £15million – a hefty chunk of its funding – in taxpayers’ cash, through the Legal Services Commission which hands out legal aid.
But a Legal Services spokesman said that even if taxpayer-funded IAS lawyers were representing the couple, that service would not be paid for by legal aid.
He added that they only gave legal aid to cases involving British law and concerned with immigration."
I know there are laws against inciting religious or racial hatred, and yes - this story is a couple if months old (only just found it today), but really - shouldn't the right wing press be held accountable for spinning lies against Muslims?

Seriously - if our national newspapers are framing the narrative on Islam with outright lies, how can we be expected to have any form of adult debate? What else are they telling printing which they've simply made up whilst having lunch at Skylon???

"A FRENCH Muslim couple sparked fury blah blah blah ..."
I am intrigued by this "sparking of fury" which allegedly occurs according to such articles.
How do they know fury has been sparked? And has anyone any idea as to the extent of the fury - how widespread? How bright or powerful the spark?
I think we have a right to know. They always leave us in the dark :-)
