from: flaming. N.W.LONDON BORN AND BRED.  As I am 103 (well, it feels like it sometimes!) you can imagine how many changes I have seen in my lifetime. People from other regions I have known rarely stay here for more than a few years. The capital isn't my town any more.  It is an international staging-post, a tourist-orientated giant theme park, at the mercy of the global investment market and people who care nothing about the place, only what can got out of redevelopments. Liverpool and similar cities - beware!
