Exeter university
This university has a reputation, rightly or wrongly, for being full of middle-class kids from Surrey. I'm from Surrey myself, and know loads of people who went to Exeter. I was invited out there a couple of years ago but couldnt make it. I'm told Exeter's a bit dull, and rather small, but is quite a nice, safe, cosy little place full of Land Rovers. Is this why they go there?
Incidentally, I'm at uni in Southampton, which is a bit dull, and an absolute **** hole.
I've nothing against Exeter, just curious to know if it's true.

Exeter is a good University. and has strong English and history departments. I dont mind high spirited students. Vomit's vomit for Chrissakes.
Do you remember the Young Ones univeristy Challenge episode with Scumbag against Money College Oxbridge? The opening shot is of a white rolls royce with a teddy tied to the grille.
Apparently at the time it was filmed, some exeter students were going around the country lanes in a Roller, drinking champagne and laughing and guffawing at the yokels. So what? Good quality champagne I hope and not in excess, so long as the driver wasnt drinking.
this is of course a gross stereotype, and few people, if any, are actually this overwhelmingly unbearable.
As for Exeter itself, it is pretty tame. we have no more than three or four clubs in the whole city, including the infamous Lemmy which is on-campus. The city is small and pretty and 'safe', but i think this only adds to the charm and welcoming atmosphere of the place. The locals are generally quite an odd bunch with a distinctly inbred look about them, but students and locals typically get on fine. Not once have i seen a single fight in the three years I've lived here.
And in case you were interested, I'm not from Surrey - I'm Welsh!
