Do any of you remember this? (bit before my time)

Although she admits some of it was faked, do you believe there is any truth behind it or was it one big hoax?

I do. I knew the investigators involved and I also have some of the EVP captured in the Enfield house. I also know from personal experience that these things can happen.

I'd like to believe it's true but the bit in the article that says nobody was ever allowed in the room with her when the mans voice was coming through her makes me wonder...

Sorry, EVP = electronic voice phenomenon, that is the tape recorded voices.

What are they like? you mean the tape-recorded voices? Well, just like any human voice, c/b loud, soft, male, female etc only they are usually coming from dead people who are now in spirit form. If you want to hear some you just have to google EVP.
No, I`ve never been in the Enfield house.

I might leave it until I'm on my own tonight. I'll watch Paranormal Activity then google EVP. That'll set me up for a good nights sleep no doubt.

Or it might keep you awake and on guard all night! No, just joking, but there are some `spooky` voices to be found out there and also some very sad ones, especially those asking for help.
Personally I didn`t find the film P.A. to be the slightest bit scary.

Really, I've heard it's a bit mind messing.

I'm really interested to look up some of these EVP recordings but my sister will be round with her kids in a minute so I should probably wait until they aren't around.

I believe most of it happened,although as they said 2 per cent was faked i believe it did happen having seen some of the videos a few years ago, there is no way a voice that deep can have been put on.
The saddest evps i have heard are supposedly sharon tate screaming why are you doing this? A little boy shouting his dad was innocent and a little boy in a cemetary saying i cant find my stone (the cemetary was being made 'safe' and all wobbly grave stones removed). i am very much a believer all ways have been.

If it was real, why did anyone feel the need to fake some of it? Such an admission surely must cast doubt on all of it.

Naomi - in the article Janet states that they made some stuff up to see if the investigators could tell they were faking. To define between real and fake. She claims they could.

the one photo of a "levitation" looks a little like the girl has jumped off the bed (as her hair is raised as if she is jumping)

I will say though that ouija boards are some scary stuff, I know a woman who used to mess with them and she said lots of very sinister things began happening in her flat. There must be something about them.

ouja board, if the session is not closed properly then the spirits and entitys become trapped in place where they were summoned. i worked in a hotel with a poltergeist and a small child spirit. both friendly enough but a pain in the arse sometimes.

I can't ascertain whether or not the television companies who were involved, or the Society for Psychical Research, have any evidence of what is claimed to have happened here, but I presume not otherwise we would have proof that such things occur.

why are spirits summoned by ouija boards? why are they not summoned by anything else?

are they always negative spirits?

not allways summoned by ouja boards but its the majority of summonings are done this way. not all ways evil spirits come through, but they can be stronger then the nice ones and force there way through, if you get me. Plus black magic can summon the dead.
Some hauntings are caused by the materials a building is made of. If a building has a high stone content then it is more likely to be haunted as the stone when in the ground absorbs electromagnetic energy from the earth, which causes it to absorb energy and events in a property and replay the events over time, and become less and less as time goes on. due to the electrical energy dissipating from the stones. sorry for the essay!
