What was the first rap record

It's sometimes claimed that SugarHill Gang's fantastic Rappers Delight from 1979 was the first rap record but I'm sure I remember something by Parliament from 1975/76 that could be classed as rap too. I also had an Isley Brothers single (Fight the Power) that was rap-like. But it was suggested on the radio recently that the above track from youtube from 1967 is considered to be the first. What do you think?

Yes, a lot of musical genres started much earlier than people generally think. Most people would say rock'n'roll started in the early 50s with Bill Haley but i remember hearing John Peel once play some great stuff from the 1940s that was also real rock n roll, and I think I heard some Blues stuff from much earlier that could also sounded as if it was from the 1950. For example I think there was song called 'rocket' that I'll try to dig out
