what a coincidence!
i was once on a flight from Gatwick to Rome and found myself sat next to a young man and his mother. Obviously we chatted and it turned out that we both came from the same town near blackpool; then we discovered he had lived on the same street as me and I lived in the house where he had previously lived for five years!
I had to get my driving licence out to prove it - we couldn't believe it! Have you had any amazing coincidences?

While staying in a YHA in Melbourne, Australia, I came home late one night after a couple of shandies, and had to show my key and give my name to the guy at the door. Turned out my mother taught him German at a school in Newton Mearns, just outside Glasgow.
And while in Sydney, I hooked up with a Jamaican New Yorker, who used to share a flat there with a guy I went to school with. He thought I was joking when I said I knew this guy, but when I named his older sister, he had to believe me.
5 years after leaving the Army my wife and I went to Portugal on holiday. We stayed in a little known resort known resort and one night found a nice quiet little bar on a backstreet.
Whilst chatting to the British owners it transpired that the bar owner, a former mineworker was a former colleague and godfather to my room mate from training depot!
To digress slightly, I have the same birthday as my father in law and my wife has the same birthday as my father!
Years and years ago, i had a bit of a holiday romance with an Aussie guy I met in Egypt. We wrote, kept in touch for a couple of years, even met up again when i went to Australia, but inevitably there wasn't a future for us as neither of us wanted to take the gamble of moving across the world based on a very short "realtime" knowledge of each other.
About 5 years later, my ex & I, plus our toddler son went into London to audition for Fifteen to One - of all things. We weren't successful (got "tough" questions of course!) and caught the train home from Kings X. This outing in itself was unusual .... neither of us worked in London at the time, and didn't go there unless we had to.
As we were waiting for the train to go out, someone tapped me on the shoulder. Yep ... it was my old aussie boyfriend, pluys his new wife. Lots of rather embarrassing small talk ensued - I knew he had a wife now, but he didn't know I was also attached, with little boy ! They were in the UK and going to Cambridge for the day ..... I had no idea, having lost touch & just think it was quite a co-incidence for us to meet given that that was the only train I went on that year, and that we all ended up in the same carriage as each other.
