I'm amazed at the amount of people from my school days, who have contacted me via F/R. After all these years, we have exchanged fond memories & photo's of each other.

Has anyone else done the same?

Hi smudge, I contacted or was contacted by former schoolfriends via F/R. It was great at 1st,sharing old memories etc but slowly it petered out. However Im still in touch with one eeerm girl. She lives in Somerset but we've grown very close and we meet up once a month for a weekend to set the world to rights yet we always end up talking about our days at school, teens and what a laugh we have!
A couple of years ago I did, but other than spending a few hours chatting and exchanging photographs, nothing came of it.
It was great when I first did it.  Lots of emails and memories shares.    However, the novelty soon wore off.  I did meet up with an old boyfriend and it was a mistake, I would have preferred to remember him as he was, and probably was the same for him.    I never go on the site any more and find it boring now.
I went to a reunion organised through FR, it was a good night, however, I haven't seen anyone from it since. Was trying to arrange a get together with one really good friend from school however family life gets in the way for both of us and we haven't had chance to meet up yet. My best friend from school is still my best friend and is Godmother to both my kids.
Yes it's strange that I am now happily chatting to old school friends whom I couldn't stand back in school!!!

Apart from the people who have contacted me thro' F/R, I am still in touch with a few girls from aged 4 years &  11 years old. We still send birthday cards, Christmas cards & regularly e-mail each other. We've laughed together, we've cried together - so long live the internet!

Not bad for ladies in their late 50's!

Yes, I met my best friend again through Friends Reunited.  We have been friends for 23 years now... but we lost contact when we were 17.  We have now been thick as theives for 3 years now.  Great site, I love it.
I met up with my two best friends from school after 36 years. We are now in our late fifties. We have now been in touch for three years and it's great. We went to our school reunion last year and we meet up regularly. We are still as daft as we were 36 years ago and it's great to have them in my life again.
When we met up for the first time in London it was just as if I had said goodbye to them the previous day at school. We hit it off straight away.It was strange that our lives had taken similar paths and we have so much in common.

Hi Smudge

Well having registered with F/R on Feb 6th 2005 i have had no luck with contacting any of my old friends what so ever :(

But the is an upside to this, "whats that?" i hear you ask. Well on April 28th this year i recieved an email via F/R from a girl i used to date 17 years ago. She was the apple of my eye and i worshipped the gound she walked on. Unfortunatley due to my job, Royal Navy, things didn't quite go to plan and we seperated 6 months later :( I have spent many hours instant messaging, phoning and texting her and even been to see her twice in the last 8 days. she hasn't changed a bit and i love her as much now as i did back then. I still want to do the one thing i coulndn't do in 1988 and thats MARRY HER. She is fantastic and i'm not going to lose her again. By the way, Yes it's your Nicky i'm talking about :)
