You don't have to do too much. Chief bridesmaid is in charge of organising the hen night. Other bridesmaids help with this.

Mainly on the day help get the bride ready, look after her and calm her down.

The bride will hand her bouquet to her bridesmaid for the service itself. When they have their 1st dance the best man will traditionally be next onto the dancefloor with the chief bridesmaid.

If you want to be generally helpful volunteer to help out with any jobs that may arise such as checking that things have arrived ok. but basically it's the hen night and day itself.

Maybe you can check out a wedding website such as confetti.co.uk and it should give you a list of bridesmaid duties, which should help.  I'm getting married this year and have found that site really helpful - good luck x
When I was bridesmaid I just made a massive fuss of her, (she's the type that loved every minute of it!) got her a drink, adjusted her dress for the pics and just generally was on hand for anything she needed during the day.
i think it's your duty to cop off with the best man. :-)  (kidding!)
